In today's information and knowledge based economy, process is the enterprise. Companies serve customers by executing business processes. Companies have innovative ideas and strategies which they want to execute quickly, before opportunity is lost. They have quality initiatives like six sigma, business process automation, balanced scorecard, and activity based costing which they would like to implement. Before BPM the technology did not exist which enabled companies to run digitized business processes and measure performance in real time.
But there has been a lot of hype and confusion regarding BPM. I have been an early adopter of BPM and have implemented enterprise strength mission critical BPMS. Based on my experience becoming a process managed enterprise is challenging and requires hard work. It requires a mindset change for all (business and IT).But the rewards of being process managed are tremendous and the effort is worth it. Process Managed enterprises change the basis of competition. In this book I unfold my lessons and experiences regarding BPM from a higher level. This is the first book by someone who has been working with BPM at the grass roots level, so I do not paint a false picture. Based on real experience, I also explain why BPM offers revolutionary advances for process management. I believe companies which adopt BPM will rule their respective industries in the years to come. + Importance of BPM and why BPM cannot be ignored. + Evolution of BPMS from existing technologies like EAI, Workflow and Collaboration. + Setting the correct process mindset for enterprise stakeholders, BPM implementers and users. + Best practices and strategies for all phases of process life cycle (based on real project experience). + BPM product greatest needs and evaluation. |
